RTL Couch Surfer Trackpad is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your data belongs to you, and we have built our app to ensure it stays that way.

We do not collect any data. RTL Couch Surfer Trackpad:

• Does not use analytics or tracking tools

• Does not require you to create an account
• Does not store any information on our servers (we don't have any!)

How the App Works

RTL Couch Surfer Trackpad operates entirely on your local network:

• Local Network Only: All communication between your iOS device and Mac happens directly over your local Wi-Fi network
• No Internet Required: The app does not require an internet connection to function
• No Cloud Services: No data is ever sent to or stored on any external servers
• Direct Connection: Your iOS device communicates directly with your Mac using a secure local connection

Data Transmission

The only data transmitted by the app is:

• Touch Input: Finger position and gesture data sent from your iOS device to your Mac
• Connection Code: A temporary code used to pair your devices (never leaves your local network)

This data:

• Remains entirely on your local network
• Is not logged or stored anywhere
• Is used only to control your cursor in real-time
• Is immediately discarded after use

Permissions

The app requires the following permissions:

macOS

• Accessibility: Required to control your cursor and perform clicks. This permission is used only for the app's core functionality and no data is collected or stored.
• Local Network: Required to communicate with your iOS device on the same Wi-Fi network.

iOS/iPadOS

• Local Network: Required to discover and connect to your Mac on the same Wi-Fi network.

Third-Party Services

RTL Couch Surfer Trackpad does not use any third-party services, including:

• No analytics frameworks
• No advertising networks
• No crash reporting services
• No cloud storage providers
• No social media integrations

Settings and Preferences

Any settings you configure in the app (such as mouse button visibility) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS/macOS user defaults. These preferences:

• Remain on your device only
• Are not synchronized or backed up to our servers
• May be included in your device's iCloud backup (controlled by your device settings)

Children's Privacy

RTL Couch Surfer Trackpad does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is safe for users of all ages.

Security

While we don't collect any data, we still take security seriously:

• All communication stays on your local network
• No data is transmitted over the internet
• Connection codes are temporary and session-specific
• The app follows Apple's security best practices

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how we handle data (though we don't currently handle any), we will update this privacy policy and notify users through the app or our website.
